8th International Transdisciplinary Symposium Bioethics and Aporia of Psyche

The symposium was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Religious Studies of the University of  Zagreb on May 9–10 2024.

In 2017, the symposium was founded by Luka Janeš, president of the organisation commitee.

The meaning and goal of the symposium is to connect various bodies of knowledge and experience – ranging from philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and psychology, through cognitive science, neuroscience, and psychiatric medical practice, to different cultural perspectives – to elucidate the difficulties and aporias of psyche and arrive at concrete solutions.

José Barrientos-Rastrojo (Faculty of Philosophy, University of Seville, Spain)  delivered a plenary lecture titled “Philosophical Interventions in the Third Sector (from Prisons to Associations that Work with Poor Children and Teenagers, Addicts, Prostitutes and Immigrants)” and held a experiential workshop entitled “Diakrisis: A Workshop to Train Our Ideologized Visions and Mind in Order to Know Why We Feel What We Feel”.

Aleksandar Fatić (Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade, Serbia) presented his topic “The Meaning and Application of Empathy in Psychotherapy”.

Aleksandar Prica held a presentation on the topic of “Hyperreality: Between Noosphere and Noogenic Neurosis”.
